We met up with Karlie and Matt and all their family and friends for their Old Kinderhook wedding on a cloudy, September day! We are so lucky to have the rain spare us, and the sun actually popped out for a few of our portraits!
The day started with the girls and guys getting ready at different houses on the Old Kinderhook grounds. Karlie made her bridesmaids look beautiful by doing their makeup herself! She then finished her own makeup for a gorgeous wedding day bridal look! Matt and the guys hung out at a cabin by the main lodge.
Karlie and Matt wrote sweet letters to each other that they read prior to the ceremony. After reading her letter, Karlie shared a special first look with her dad. I’ll never not love daughter/daddy first looks!
The ceremony took place in the large hearth room at the Lodge and was filled to the brim with wedding guests! The couple shared vows and a first kiss and joyfully exited down the aisle! Matt was absolutely overcome with emotion when he saw his bride!
After the ceremony, we took the wedding party over to the golf course and took portraits in front of a background of beautiful green landscape! The girls looked gorgeous while the guys goofed off with the groom!
I then took a golf cart with the new husband and wife to a pretty little spot in view of the lodge to do bride and groom portraits, while their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the patio outside of the reception space.
Once we got to the reception, the couple and their friends were ready to party! They heard a speech from Karlie’s dad and laughed at toasts from Karlie’s best friends and Matt’s brother. The couple shared in a sweet first dance, followed by dances with their parents. After the garter and bouquet toss (both of which were caught by an existing couple!), the new husband and wife danced the night away!
I’m so happy to have the opportunity to work with such sweet couples, and Karlie and Matt were no different! I loved getting to know their friends and family. Congratulations to the new married couple, I can’t wait to see your adventures in marriage!
xoxo, Amanda
