After many emails and chats, I finally got to meet Annie and Matt for their Missouri Governor’s Garden and Kempker’s Back 40 engagement session! The world really is a small place. Turns out I work with Annie’s dad at the hospital, and get this, Matt was my next door neighbor when we were kids! I believe the fact that they were led my direction really means that our relationship was meant to be!
For their engagement session, they brought their dogs along! How cute are they with those little signs around their necks! We walked around the Governor’s Garden and grabbed a few pretty portraits before heading off to Kempker’s Back 40, where their wedding day will take place!
At Kempker’s, we traversed into the creek bed and over into the large field. The couple was cute as can be giggling and snuggling the whole time! After portraits in the field, we caught all the gorgeous light pouring through the trees as you walk the property. We brought the dogs out again for a few quick portraits before heading home with the sun setting behind us!
I really had such a fun time with Annie and Matt. Here’s what Annie had to say about her engagement session experience:
I felt so comfy! I’m not one to be photographed or posed and I was practically giddy the entire time.
I love to hear that, because I truly want my couples to feel comfortable and able to be themselves around me! Since I have a connection to both Annie and Matt, I wondered what brought them together and their engagement story. Here it is in Annie’s words:
Because we’re usually really good about accidentally reading each other’s minds, Matt didnt buy the ring until the day before he proposed. He suggested we take a walk downtown (downtown Chillicothe has lots of pretty murals and a lovely garden plaza). When we walked into the plaza, I noticed a little free library on the corner and got so excited & distracted with the books that I didn’t even notice Matt kneeling behind me. It was cute, intimate, and definitely a surprise! Afterwards we celebrated with Chinese food.
These two are adorable together, and I’m so happy they found me! I can’t wait for their October 2020 wedding!
xoxo, Amanda
