Capen Park and Mizzou Campus Engagement Session

I was so excited to meet up with Jen and Ryan for their Capen Park and Mizzou campus engagement session recently in Columbia, MO! The couple looked comfy cozy in their fall flannels as we walked the trails of Capen Park and trekked down to the creek bed. They couldn’t stop laughing and felt so silly the entire session! I love having clients who aren’t afraid to smile, laugh, and open up during their session!

After Capen, we made the short trip to Mizzou campus for a more formal look to their session! I love the look of Jen’s maroon shirt against the white columns! The couple continued laughing together and getting nice and cozy the entire session! After visiting the columns, we made a short walk to The Shot Bar where Jen and Ryan first met and their relationship began to blossom! Here’s a peak into that night and how the couple met according to Jen:

How They Met

“We met through my college friend, Zach, who I graduated with. One night we all went out to celebrate our last test of college, and Ryan came out with Zach. We ended up talking at the end of the night for a really long time, and he asked me to dinner at the end. We went on a date to Jazz, and have been together since!”

If that’s not cute enough, wait until you hear all about the way Ryan proposed to Jen! Here it is from Jen’s point of view:

The Epic Proposal

“Ryan and I went to visit Zach and Zach’s girlfriend in Boston. We had an incredible time in Boston and part of our plan was the four of us to go hiking in Vermont and stay in a mountain home. We went on a hike to the top of a mountain with an incredible view. We were sitting at the top looking all around and suddenly Ryan was proposing! I had no idea it was coming, but the rest of them all knew about it. Of course I said yes! It was a trip we will never forget!”

I don’t know about you, but I think Zach deserves some sort of special place in the wedding!

These two were so sweet to work with. I absolutely can’t wait for their 4th of July wedding next year! Until then, enjoy some of my favorite images from their session!
