Alyssa and Garrett shared the sweetest moments on a beautiful, hot June day for their Jefferson City wedding. Their closest friends and family joined them as they exchanged vows and rings and made official what is obviously a perfect union.
We started the day at the couple’s church, and the church that I grew up at, Memorial Baptist in Jefferson City. The girls did their hair and makeup while Alyssa’s beautiful gown hung in the doorway. Surrounded by her sisters and her soon to be sister-in-law, Alyssa was prayed over in an emotional moment that silenced the room. Afterwards, Alyssa’s dad was surprised by his beautiful daughter in her wedding attire, and they shared a special moment before we added the finishing touches of Alyssa’s look – another emotional moment as the veil that was the bride’s sister’s was placed to complete her outfit.
The ceremony began, and Garrett watched as Alyssa and her dad walked down the aisle towards him. He took a deep sigh as he saw his bride in her wedding gown adorned with lace and beaded features as well as hints of mauve under the chiffon layer. She smiled as he greeted her and walked her up the alter. Friends and family watched as the couple held hands and smiled at each other. In the middle of the ceremony, the entire congregation shared in a special moment by singing How Great Is Our God. After the couple was pronounced married, they joyfully proceeded down the aisle and began greeting all of their loved ones that came to share in their special day.
The reception was held at Canterbury Hill Winery. The sun was high in the sky as the couple and their wedding party took portraits among the vines! The heat didn’t keep the couple from holding tight to one another while we grabbed some fun but intimate portraits of the new husband and wife. The couple cut the cake and the wedding guests enjoyed a spread of cookies, cake and desserts! The couple walked around the intimate reception space and spoke with each person and each table. They hugged family and friends, and members of the families on both sides chatted with each other about how amazing the couple is. After tossing the bouquet and garter, the couple continued in joyful conversation with their guests.
I am so privileged to be able to capture these special moments and want to thank Alyssa and Garrett for inviting me into their world for a moment! I can’t wait to see where life takes them, as they finish school and create a new life together! Thank you!
In memory of Shelly Dillon.
xoxo, Amanda
