So excited to share some of my favorite images from this Missouri state capitol wedding in Jefferson City, MO!
It was a blustery, cold day in December. Alex was prepping for the most exciting day of her life with all of her girls by her side! She was wearing an elegant, Audrey Hepburn-esque gown accompanied by multiple “something olds” from her grandma and great-grandma. To remember the day even more, she topped it off with a spritz of Marc Jacobs!
After the wedding party got ready, in an office at the state capitol building no less, it was time for Chad to see his beautiful bride! We braved the 20-something degree temps to get some sweet images of the two seeing each other for the first time that day! I remember seeing my husband for the first time on our wedding day. He was opening the door to the church and didn’t realize I was watching him from the parking lot. I immediately got butterflies. I know that’s what both Chad and Alex were feeling as she walked up behind her soon to be husband and tapped him on the shoulder. We got some cozy, romantic images of the two before heading inside the capitol building for the ceremony located in the senate chamber mezzanine! Talk about a once in a lifetime wedding to photograph!
Everything went off without a hitch. The couple’s closest friends and relatives standing nearby witnessed a sweet, intimate ceremony. Wedding party and family portraits took place in the third floor rotunda. Guys, I’m not making this stuff up! As if I didn’t already looooooove our capitol building from the outside, now I have this special memory of creating something beautiful for one cool couple.
The reception was located at The Millbottom, complete with a donut wall and a breakfast feast! After the eats, we heard some unforgettable best man and maid of honor speeches. Let me tell ya, when your maid of honor makes a parody of “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls (my go-to DJ request by the way) for her speech, there is not much that can top it, other than the bride’s toast to her grandparent’s who were celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary THAT DAY! What a special day to share with your grandma and grandpa! After the speeches came the party. This group knew how to party! And I looovvveeeddd how Alex and Chad were right there the whole time, enjoying every second of their day with all of their wedding guests.
Alex and Chad, it’s been such a pleasure to get to know you guys and to capture these special moments in your life. I’m honored to have been chosen for this once in a lifetime moment (not to mention venue)! I can’t wait to keep up with you, and I truly wish you so much happiness!

[…] Alexandria and Charles – royal names for a royally fun couple. We never stopped smiling for their session. Even when we tried to do serious pictures they were both holding back laughter! Listen, I’m not complaining! These pictures just make me that much more excited for their late December wedding! […]
